The onething conference is a gathering of young adults who have set their hearts to live with abandonment and devotion to Jesus. Join us this December 28–31 2009 as thousands come to Kansas City for IHOP–KC’s premier conference for worship, prayer, teaching, and ministry in the power of the Spirit.
The theme of the conference will be,“What the Spirit is saying to the church.”
“We are going to make some clarion statements about the crisis in America and about the compromise so common in the church.” says Mike Bickle, founder of IHOIP-KC.
History of onthing conferences:
The International House of Prayer was founded by Mike Bickle in 1999. The primary focus of the mission has always been directed toward young adults. After approximately two years into the ministry Bickle and his leadership team felt led that a season had arrived to reach the next generation in a more dynamic way. The “onething” conference concept was conceived, then released in January 2002.
The theme for the first conference was taken from Psalms 27:4:
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
Brent Steeno is an original leadership staff member of IHOP-KC. According to Steeno one of the consistent purpose for the onething conferences is to call people to experience the love of God.
The first onething conference hosted approximately 4,000 young adults. Because of the steady growth experienced over the years and the recent student awakening, IHOP-KC anticipates upward of 25,000 young adults to gather for the ’09 conference.
The onething conference goal is to train and equip young adults to live passionate lives for Jesus. The onething ’09 conference will address spiritual implications of many current events, such as: The current crisis in the USA; The coming global revival; The power of the Holy Spirit.
